The Pennies
Most of the stocks selling for pennies or less per share usually remain that way. While there is some legitimacy to a very few, most others are not worth your time, and money. Most are referred to as: Pump & Dump where a paid promotion is the usual vehicle to instill investment enthusiasm without reason or, logic.
As the stock rises in value due to the promotion, you may find those involved with the initial offering have sold their shares. You may also find nothing but a shell, and/or there never really was a company to begin with or, at least none exists, today. The price then, goes in for a crash landing.
