I Am Spam I’m Not

The Spam Chief is a Cardinals fan!  Many of my comments are ending up in spam files across the blogging universe.

The Department of Spam, located in St. Louis, Mo.  is supposed to be an unbiased faction of the blogging community but, more evidence is being recovered showing there is a conspiracy of bias, alive, and well in the department.

The Chief, and Director of the Department, Larry Albert Ram has vehemently denied all charges of bias.  Mr. Ram admits to being a Cardinals fan, and shifting files of any other major league baseball club fans to spam, are false.

Mine, somehow do get shifted, Mr. Ram!

Hopefully this post doesn’t reach impedance by, Mr. L.A. Ram, and his staff of wing nuts in St. Louis.  I am hopeful this post gets through, and you will find my comments in your spam file.

Please look in your Spam file for me, until Mr. Ram is replaced by a more legitimate, Cubs fan.

Finally, I leave you with this:

Am I spam?

I am spam?

Spam I am?

I am not spam, No spam I am.

Spam I’m not.

Not, I’m spam.

I am spam, I’m not!

…..And you thought, Dr. Seuss had all the talent……

LET THEM EAT PIE

The spammer is trying to sell cakes.  Foreign carrot cakes.  No, thanks.  American Apple Pie will do, just fine.  Even if, I liked carrot cakes, they are available closer to home.

The spammer leads with the exact same, negative comment on every spam.  Verbatim.  No reference to the post’s subject matter.  Then concludes with ordering some cake could change everything for the better.  Again, I will decline the offer.

How many blogs are inundated with spam for comments?  Probably, many to most.  The filters are on, and most, like mine filter it out.  Again, at WordPress, they can be edited, and/or disposed of.

Here’s what I don’t understand, and kind of intrigues me.  Why would a spammer be so negative to a blog they would like to place a comment to enhance sales of their product?  Is there some strategy I’m missing?  Has naivete presented itself?  Is it some sort of reverse psychology?  I really don’t get it.

As if this spammer was actually reading the posts, they lead off with some automated, contemplation….but, instead of, ‘hmmm,’ they can’t even get that right, and I quote verbatim: ‘hrm’

Hmmm……..

GET 10,000 AMERICAN DOLLARS

This is very easy.  Just send $100.00, and the $10,000 is yours.

Really?  For real, it’s some guy in Nigeria who finds hidden amounts of wealth.  He does this as his life’s mission to assist people but, getting these vast amounts of wealth is very costly.  So, you must pay shipping, and a customs fee for getting the money out of Nigeria.

Sometimes, Mr. Nice Guy will write that he has millions to get out of the country but, can’t get it all without your help.  So, he’s willing to share some of it with you if, you’ll just pay associated costs.

This is a good example of what some people fall for when this information reaches their e-mail.  A nice guy in Nigeria sending money to people as his life’s work.

There are many variations on this scenario but, go ahead, and send the associated costs.  Wait for your package of money to arrive, and keep waiting.  It takes time but, keep waiting.  Wait just a little longer, it takes lots, and lots of time.

After Armageddon has come, and gone, it may become apparent there is no package, and you have been duped out of $100.  Keep waiting if you really feel you must.

According to How To Spot A Fraud some may be so desperate, their minds leave all reality, and support  this ‘guy.’

Don’t do it!

There are no packages, and there’s no money except, the money you send.  Don’t do it!

Thank yous to ‘How To Spot A Fraud’ for an excellent, informative blog.
