How Do You Think That You Think You Do?

What does everyone think?  My Wife, Son, Mother, Brothers, Friends, Acquaintances, Co-Bloggers, Co-Workers and Work Supervisors.

Lots to be concerned with, there.  Hope I appear correct for all of them.  Think I’ll take a survey of them, and really find out.  Simple.

Take the survey, and see just how confused I can remain.  Not that their opinions don’t count but, if I don’t have one other opinion, it is all for naught.  That one other opinion tips the scale, and counts for a minimum of 51%.

Mine.

I have final say so over, my deepest personality traits, composing; Me.  Some traits more engrained than others but, still,  I above anyone, choose.  I am the custodian, the trait keeper.  No one more fluent on the subject than I am.

That being true, then, why do we solicit, approval with everyone else except, too often, ourselves?  Are you a comfortable fit, for you?

How often in the work place, are you evaluated for your performance?  Many of those evaluations determine, or at least help determine a pay raise.  Maybe a promotion.  You are evaluated by, a minority of the constituency because, when it’s all over, the only thing directly from you on that evaluation, is your signature. Better luck next time.

Where, and when are the most fantastic improvements made?

People are unique, and won’t necessarily end up at the intended destination with an absolute, prescribed course to re-write something already embedded.  An excellent Corporate Manager knows how to uniquely apply the corporate cookie cutter for each of their employees.

In the work place, the best managers bring their employees to the intended destination by, allowing each employee’s participation in a review.  That is what separates the excellent from the good.  ‘What do you think you did well, and possibly could improve upon?’

In the quote above, the manager asked the employee to self evaluate.  The Manager was asking, how, within your personality make-up can you help this employer.

A good to average Manager would be surprised how, brutally honest an employee would be on their own review.  An excellent Manager already knows, and the excellent Manager knows each of the individuals, and their characteristics under their jurisdiction.

So, why is it, Managers in work places are willing to give but, forget that receiving is part of the equation? Receive information about your individual employees from, your individual employees.  How can each of these unique individuals contribute the most to the work place?  Each of those workers are willing to teach you.

Have them be involved with their own development as only they can uniquely contribute. Give employees the opportunity to directly participate in self-management.

Now, everybody involved is, important.  Average Managers become excellent.  Good Employees become the best.  The combined effort of all involved seals a much greater chance of success for all concerned.

A review in the work place is typically a critique, and a plan of improvement.  Instead, it should be a review of improvements made, and how, and what the employee would like to achieve going forward. Most of that should be directly from the employee.

Where did all of this, start?  I’m fortunate.  I have an excellent Manager on the job.

I Lost It

I lost it, big time, yesterday!  Anger!

Arrived at work, and noticed the office door, shut.  I asked what was going on, and found out the Manager was on another conference call.  Those typical conference calls are usually filled with a ‘rattling the cage’ attitude from the upper echelon.  All done with a smile well, perhaps a grimace disguised as a smile.  They do try, so I’m told.  In any case, these calls can be tough as, they are usually lengthy, and to the point.

I’m shown the latest from corporate.  All cashiers drawers designed like a pencil box for second graders with precise directions as to where, in the drawer a pen is placed, post-its, etc., and several other items.  This got to the lowest within me.

It was just last week, they visited the store saying, they were easing up on mini-micro-managing, handing more back to the local managers.  At that time, I’m thinking….good, they’re beginning to see their way to success.

I’m thinking how, happy I was last week that, they have finally gained an insight.  Today, the arrival of the pencil box.

I knew my manager was on the call, and when he got to the floor he would need a little time.  He’s very good with his employees so,  it might be my turn to give a little room, and some time.  I gave a few minutes then, approached him with a request for venting time.

Several minutes later, he is ready for my ‘venting.’  I reiterated my feelings.  ‘They actually paid someone money for this pencil box design!  Someone who doesn’t bring a dime in to the bottom line!  This is their focus when, we need them to focus on bringing competitively priced, good products in to the store at good margins, and increasing customer base.’

My manager empathized with me but, also reminded me, corporate management would ultimately make  these decisions, and asked that I shift my focus back to a successful sales day.

He was right.  What could I do about a pencil box design?  It wasn’t really the pencil box but, rather a fragmented, mixed message about micro-managing which provoked my feelings.  I really want this company to be successful.

The venting was over.  I got to tell someone how I felt.  I did, exactly as the manager asked.  Re-shifted my focus, and had a very successful sales day.

I lost it.  Now, I have it back. I’m not punishing myself for having a human reaction.  I dealt with it, and I’ve reconciled.

Today, I feel happy.  I’m focused for another successful sales day.  My family.  My friends.  A Cubs victory in the World Series.  And, yes, the company I get to work for, every day.

ALL FOR ONE & ONE FOR ONE

CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE, TOO.  THAT’S CASE LAW IN THE UNITED STATES.  SO, THAT DEGRADES ME, A PERSON, TO THE STATUS OF A  ‘LAW CREATED’ ENTITY OR, UPGRADES AN ENTITY TO THE STATUS OF A HUMAN BEING.

WHEN IT IS CONVENIENT, A CORPORATION IS A PERSON, AND WHEN IT’S NOT, THEY AREN’T BUT, THE LAW SAYS THEY ARE, EXCEPT WHEN THEY’RE NOT.

COULD IT BE THAT, CASE LAW IS TAINTED BY, POLITICS?  NO, WE WOULD NEVER ALLOW THAT IN THE UNITED STATES.

THIS IS VERY CONFUSING.  DO I PAY A CORPORATE TAX OR, INDIVIDUAL TAX?  DOES THE CORPORATION PAY AS AN INDIVIDUAL?  ONE PERSON, ONE VOTE?

TO THINK, THESE PEOPLE NEVER SHOW UP TO VOTE BUT, THEY DO VOTE.

WE CONTINUE TO ALLOW FOR THIS.  WE CONTINUALLY ALLOW FOR THOSE ‘PEOPLE’ TO HAVE THE EAR OF OUR REPRESENTATIVES EVEN AS WE DON’T.  ‘THOSE PEOPLE’ DON’T HAVE TO VOTE.  THEY HAVE REGISTERED THEIR VIEWS WITH LARGE CAMPAIGN DONATIONS WHICH THEY PREVENT, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE FROM BEING OFFERED BY, REAL PEOPLE.

HOW DO CORPORATIONS DO THAT?  TREAT LABOR AS SLAVES UNDER THE SLAVE DRIVEN, EMPLOYMENT AT WILL LAWS.  DON’T ALLOW THEM TO SHARE ENOUGH OF A CORPORATION’S PROFIT, THEY HELPED TO BUILD, TO MAKE ANY SIZABLE CAMPAIGN DONATION.

GREED IS A TRAIT WE MAY ALL HAVE TO SOME DEGREE BUT, ‘THOSE PEOPLE’ HAVE LOTS MORE.  THE PROFITS SHOWN ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL UNLESS, THEY ARE CONTINUALLY GOING UP.  THAT IS, AT ALL COSTS, THE NUMBERS MUST BE IMPROVED, DAY TO DAY, YEAR TO YEAR.  NEVER MIND, THE CORPORATION WAS PROFITABLE YEAR TO YEAR BUT, THE PROFIT MUST FOREVER BE MOVING UPWARD.

MOST OFTEN, THE CORPORATIONS REWARD THOSE MOST, AT THE TOP OF THEIR HIERARCHY.  A CEO MAKES MILLIONS WHILE THOSE IN THE LABOR FORCE MAKE ENDS MEET.

THOSE AT THE TOP OF THE HIERARCHY MAY BE DISMISSED FOR A JOB POORLY DONE BUT, MANY TIMES THEIR RICH CONTRACTS ARE ‘BOUGHT OUT’ BY, THE CORPORATION AT A PREMIUM.

WHO PAYS FOR THAT PREMIUM BUY-OUT?  THE LABOR FORCE AS THE CORPORATION MUST GET IT FROM SOMEWHERE IN THE FORM OF WAGE FREEZES, AND BENEFIT REDUCTIONS.  IF IT MEANS DELETING PART OF THE LABOR FORCE THAT CREATED THE PROFIT, SO BE IT.  THEY ARE NOT ABOUT TO LOSE ANY PROFITABLE STATUS OVER SOMETHING AS TRIVIAL AS THIS.

LET’S ADD THIS ALL UP.  YOU GO TO WORK, DO A GOOD JOB, AN EXCELLENT JOB, AND RECEIVE A WAGE FREEZE.  THE CEO SOMETIMES GOES TO WORK, DOES A POOR JOB, AND GIVEN SOMETIMES MILLIONS ON DEPARTURE.

CORPORATIONS MAKE FOR STUPID PEOPLE IF, THEY ARE TO BE CONSIDERED AS PEOPLE.  THEY CONTINUALLY WONDER WHY, THERE IS ORGANIZED LABOR, AND CAMPAIGN ACTIVELY WITH THEIR REPRESENTATIVES IN CONgress TO DESTROY ORGANIZED LABOR.

CORPORATIONS HAVE PUT THE WORD OUT TO THEIR REPRESENTATIVES DESIRING STRONGER ANTI-LABOR LAWS, AND THE CAMPAIGN FELL IN TO A ‘GO MODE’ AS A NEW, STRONGER SET OF  ‘RIGHT TO WORK’ LAWS ARE POISED FOR DEBATE IN SEVERAL STATES WITH INDIANA BEING THE LATEST RECIPIENT OF ANTI-LABOR LEGISLATION.

WE CONTINUE TO ALLOW THIS, AND ‘THOSE PEOPLE’ ARE WONDERING WHY WE AREN’T GRATEFUL IN THE LABOR FORCE.  WHO REIGNS AS MORE STUPID?

THERE’S AN OPPORTUNITY HERE FOR THE RIGHT PEOPLE WILLING TO LOOK FOR THAT OPPORTUNITY, WHATEVER IT MIGHT BE.  AN OPPORTUNITY TO ELEVATE FROM WHERE WE SIT.

SUCCESSFUL CEO AVAILABLE

NON-REVENUE PRODUCING PERSONNEL COSTS MANY CORPORATIONS LOTS OF PREMIUM PAYROLL DOLLARS.  IT IS NOT NECESSARY.

I HAVE NO BACKGROUND AS A NON-REVENUE PRODUCING EMPLOYEE.  SO, I WRITE WITH BIAS, AND PREJUDICE AS A SUCCESSFUL REVENUE PRODUCING SALES PERSON.

WHY ARE THERE TOO LITTLE PAYROLL DOLLARS AVAILABLE FOR THE PRODUCERS THAN, THOSE NOT PRODUCING A DIME FOR THE CORPORATION?

THAT QUESTION IS EASY TO ANSWER.  WE HAVE FALLEN IN TO A BAD HABIT.  THIS IS THE WAY IT’S DONE.  THAT’S THE ANSWER; IT’S HOW IT’S DONE.

THERE IS STRUCTURE, A HIERARCHY.  THIS IS PART OF THE PROBLEM.  WITH RESPECT TO CORPORATIONS, MANY TIMES IT IS THE CEO AT THE TOP OF THE HIERARCHY.  THE REVENUE PRODUCERS FALL TOWARD THE BOTTOM.

HERE’S WHAT I WOULD ATTEMPT AS A CEO.

TURN THAT HIERARCHY MAP 180° AS A GESTURE OF RESPECT FOR THOSE MAKING MY WORLD POSSIBLE.

AS CEO, I PUSH UP NOT, DOWN.

CUT MY RIDICULOUS SALARY TO SOMETHING MORE REASONABLE.  I’LL BET I’LL MANAGE OR, AM I REALLY THAT GREEDY?  IF I’M THAT GREEDY, I NEED A CHARACTER CHECK-UP KNOWING SOME OF MY EMPLOYEES ARE MAKING A DECISION BETWEEN UTILITIES, AND FOOD.

IF I’M GOING TO GET A CONTRACT THAT ALLOWS ME SEVERANCE UPON DISMISSAL FOR A POOR JOB SO, IS EVERYONE ELSE.  THEREFORE, MY CONTRACT WILL BE RE-WRITTEN TO EXCLUDE ANYTHING LIKE THAT, AND NOBODY ELSE WOULD BE REWARDED FOR POOR PERFORMANCE.

ASSESS THE NECESSITY FOR EACH NON REVENUE PRODUCING POSITION, AND THE RELATIVE WORTH TO THE COMPANY.  THE COURAGE TO ACT ON MY FINDINGS.

CONSTRUCT A REVENUE PRODUCING ENTITY WITHIN REACH OF ALL CORPORATE PERSONNEL TO PARTICIPATE.  ALL WILL BECOME MUCH MORE THAN VAGUELY FAMILIAR WITH HOW THE CORPORATION DERIVES ITS’ REVENUE SO, EVERYONE CAN BE PAID FOR THEIR WORK.

REVIEW PAYROLL STRUCTURE SO A PROPER PERCENTAGE OF PAYROLL IS DEVOTED TO THOSE BRINGING IN THE MOST REVENUE.

ALLOW LOCAL MANAGERS TO MANAGE.  IT IS WHY THEY WERE HIRED.  MICRO-MANAGING FROM THE TOP, AT A CORPORATE LEVEL FOR A NUMBER OF LOCALES IS SO, VERY TYPICAL.  NO WONDER THE COMPANY IS, PRECISELY THAT; TYPICAL.

TIME TO BECOME INNOVATIVE; THE NEW STANDARD.  THE NEW, SUCCESSFUL EXAMPLE.

NOBODY IS PRODUCTIVE JUST LIKE THE NEXT PERSON.  EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT.  NO ONE IS BETTER THAN A LOCAL MANAGER TO MANAGE THOSE DIFFERENT PRODUCERS.

CUT CORPORATE TRAVEL DOWN TO A MINIMUM.  IT IS NOT NECESSARY FOR CORPORATE PERSONNEL TO TRAVEL TO LOCATIONS ONLY TO FIND A BROKEN SHOE LACE THE MANAGER WAS PROBABLY FIXING, ANYWAY.

DRIVE THE NUMBERS.  AFTER ALL, THE NUMBERS MOVE US FORWARD.  NOT TO BE DONE IN THE TRADITIONAL SENSE.  DRIVING NUMBERS ALSO DRIVES PEOPLE CRAZY.  THEY TEND TO BE LESS PRODUCTIVE SWEATING OUT THE NUMBERS.

SALES PERSONNEL GIVEN HIGH NUMBERS TO ACHIEVE BEGIN WITH PRESSURE TO ACHIEVE THAT NUMBER AS IF NOTHING LESS WILL DO.  THEY BEGIN FOCUSED ON ACHIEVING ALL 10 BEFORE THEY REACH THE 1ST.  10 IS NOT 10.  IT IS THE LAST OF 10 SINGLE SALES.

SET A GOAL YOU DON’T REACH, AND YOU ARE CRUSHED WITH PRESSURE ALONG THE WAY.  SET A GOAL, REACH IT, AND SPEND THE REMAINING TIME EASING OFF, KNOWING YOUR GOAL HAS BEEN ACHIEVED.  DID THE GOAL JUST BECOME A LIMIT, A LEVEL OF RESISTANCE?  NO, THANKS.

FORGET THE NUMBERS.  THAT’S MY JOB AS CEO.  AS SALES PERSONNEL, FOCUS ON THE NEXT SALE.  JUST ONE.  COMPLETE ONE SALE, AND REPEAT THE PROCESS.  SOME DAYS, THE FIRST MIGHT BE THE ONLY ONE BUT, ON OTHERS IT WILL BE THE FIRST OF MANY.

EXPRESS DISDAIN FOR ‘EMPLOYMENT AT WILL.’  NOBODY DISMISSED ON A WHIM.  EMPLOYMENT AT WILL WAS A PRODUCT OF A SLAVE OWNER, AND I WILL NOT BE BE ASSOCIATED WITH IT.

ENJOY YOUR TIME AT WORK.  EVERYBODY, ENJOY!  IF I OFFER TIME OFF, TAKE IT.  I OFFERED, DIDN’T I?

ANYBODY LOOKING FOR A SUCCESSFUL  CEO?  I’M AVAILABLE.

WHAT MIDDLE CLASS?

Why is the middle class dissolving at a rapid pace?  I have touched upon it, before,  and there is no one reason.

I am not a college grad, though I’ve taken some college courses.  It doesn’t take a college education to understand the reasons why, the class I once was a part of is dissolving.  Growing up under the protective wing of middle class parental support I thought nothing of losing this class status.

I was taught the basics.  Go out, secure employment, work hard, save some money, and maybe, just like my father before me, I could have a brand new car, once in my life.  He was part of a strong ‘middle class’ that had already seen its’ finest day.

Greed is now a large part of many large corporations.  Greed has been woven in to the fabric of the United States corporate community.  Whatever the profit, it’s not enough.  Getting profit from wherever, and by whatever means possible is the goal even, if it means paying workers less to achieve it.

Large corporations counting the profit dollars for the most part, do it the easy way.  It makes those running the company look good with little effort.  They employ to get the job done, and that’s where much profit is made.

Shamefully the U.S.A. has to put a minimum wage in front of employers as they are not fair about wages paid.  However, the government tells them at the same time, not to worry as the minimum they will have to pay is a mere pittance.

We dare to say that someone working in the fast food industry or, in retail is not worth as much as a Construction Worker.  Or the Receptionist as more than a Car Mechanic. The Insurance Agent, and the list is endless.  We never put ourselves in the place of someone else.  Instead we have judged one worker over another.  Put a value on their job based on what appears to be simplicity.  It takes all kinds to make simplicity of one job or, another.  Some might be surprised if they actually had to do a job other than their own.

Fast food is many times fast paced, and difficult to varying degrees.  Many skills must be utilized.  Try the sales floor for a greedy retailer, pushing one product over another, and combinations of products.  Sales goals needing to be reached regardless of customer base at the risk of losing a job.  Construction Work can be back breaking, and must be accomplished within a time frame.

We have slapped value on to one job over another by, innuendo and habit.  We have allowed it to be the unwritten rule for our entire society.  Who has popularized, and other wise perpetuated this innuendo, and habit?  Those at the top will be first in line letting you know a specific job is only worth, ‘so much.’

Some of the highly compensated would have a difficult time on the front line, and would never be compensated at such a ridiculously low wage.

What do they really mean?  The job is only worth so much, before it threatens their corporate profit, and in turn reflects upon their job performance.  They want you to believe if they paid an employee properly, the company would cease to exist.  That’s the common belief but, that’s not what they actually mean.   If anything, continue the propaganda taking any focus from how salaries at the top, blown out of proportion truly wreak havoc with corporate economics.

The current minimum wage rests somewhere around a laughable $7/hr.  Really?  Could you live in this economy on a full time job paying that amount?

Now I’m in charge.  What do I do?  First, I take a more realistic salary for my time as does everyone around me.  Some of the salaries paid those in charge are five times, and more in one week than, your salary per year.  I can be quite comfortable receiving much less than that as it is crazy to choke off corporate profit beginning with my salary.  My job is the company’s success.

Now I’m in charge of putting greed in check.  Unfortunately, those at the top want comfort but, not just comfort.  They want extreme comfort that most could never imagine, and they will take it at the expense of everybody else.

What should the government do?  I’d rather they did nothing but, since corporate America is not able to fairly govern itself in this context, it would be necessary for the government to immediately create some new structure.

A new minimum wage of $12/hr.  Price caps for two years, and dissolving corporate federal taxes on payroll.  Instead, a new tax on corporate unemployment.  Reducing payroll to circumvent this program will result in a direct tax on corporate dollars reduced in payroll, and another tax directed at the number of employees reduced.  Finally, issuing tax credits to those corporations without any claims for unemployment.

Now we may find a company profiting arbitrarily at a third or more, less than before but, that may not necessarily be true as more will be a greater participating base in the overall economy.

Under these circumstances we will now know the true worth of a company, and not how much they are worth only because all efforts to greed have been fulfilled.  Now we have more active participants in a realistic economy.

GRATEFUL FOR UNGRATEFUL AMERICAN ELITISTS

Chances are good you know some American elitists, and chances are we helped to cultivate their elitism.  We assisted their financial wealth as they are placed upon a pedestal to be gazed at with envy by, all.

This society allows for some of them to be failures in their chosen income producing areas.  Sometimes a laughing stock but, handsomely rewarded for failing.  We laugh it off, and let it go.

We are many times on a highly articulated level of respect when addressing them though that is not what we necessarily expect in return.  Some of us are grateful they addressed us at all because, their days are crowded with important activity.  By comparison, any activity we may have is minimal, and secondary.   Do we need to think any less of ourselves?

Search your sub-conscience, be honest, and answer rhetorically.  Haven’t I described our individual relationships with most corporate magnates?  Haven’t we assisted their egos to great, sometimes highly unjustified proportions?

They usually continue at the helm of a company quite comfortably immersed in a benefit package, and salary allowing for comfort sometimes, extreme comfort while some of their employees survive on paycheck loans to pay the rent.

Well, here’s a premise.  If they are running the company like that, does it not stand to reason that just maybe they are quite inefficient at what they do?

Efficiency minimally means running the company where all work is covered efficiently with everyone doing their job, and as a reward each gets out financially solvent. That’s running successfully.

We have since allowed for less at the bottom to facilitate the top, which is why the middle class is being dissolved.  There was a time when, the entire middle class could enjoy a reasonable, even enjoyable existence.

We have been fed data, and dialogue giving credence to businesses earning too little by, today’s standards.  I question today’s standards.  What if, the so-called standard is presumed at the expense of today’s American worker?  Ironically, never at the expense of the ‘top.’

Common paths of dialogue showcase American workers having priced themselves out of the market place.  That propaganda was put forth not just to maintain but, establish new levels of profit for business.

Business is actually doing just fine.  It could even do a little less, and do just fine.

It is time to get back, get back to where we all belong!  At the very core is just how important you are to the entire picture because,  without you individually, and collectively; There isn’t!

DON’T SEND ME YOUR MONEY

A favorite buzz word running through the 1% of Americans who are a privileged class because, they can afford to buy legislation is, ‘uninformed’ when it comes to to the Wall Street Occupiers.  I have covered this previously but, now I want to inform some of the 1% freely throwing the word around to discredit them.

To the 1% who are uninformed.  I don’t want your money!  It is yours.  Could I use it?  Sure.  I’m not sure how to meet the basic obligations of our household since my wife took a demotion with a big pay cut from her employer because of a disability.  However, that’s my business.  I’m responsible, and must handle it.  In the end, I’ll take care of it.

How you conduct yourself whether it be finances or, otherwise is up to you. It will reflect on your character.  It will show what you are made of, your moral fiber.

We don’t want your money.  What we do want is, the same buying power for our money as you have for yours.  The same breaks within the system.  A fair tax code for all of us.  We want you to have no more, and no less of a break than, anyone else.  We want to have the same access to CONgress as you enjoy through lobbying tactics or, lobbyists should be thrown out, completely.

As employers, I want you to admit to deception.   I want you to admit you need no special favors from the system.  Admit that if the system allowed for equal status for all of us, if there was a correction to the imbalance, you would remain as an employer.  Why would you do that?  You would still be at the top of your income class.

Perhaps, instead of netting an arbitrary profit of $10m/yr., it would only be $5m/yr.  Further, you would employ no more, no less than it takes to get you there, just like you do, now.  You wouldn’t close the doors because as a profitable business person you would still be doing very well.  The difference; You would have to do well because you earn it, not because you can take advantage of the laws you bought.  You have to be good at what you do.

Your lobbying has been successful.  The system is full of breaks for you.  So, why is the ‘battle cry’ from especially the Republicans to the 99%;  ‘Don’t depend on the government, do it yourself!?’  Sounds good and, of course with that, they should have your campaign $upport.  After all, they want us to believe that statement applies only to the 99% when, all the laws, and legislation you have purchased allow you to depend on the government.  Some of you, even got a hefty bonus when TARP funds came in from the government.

The Occupiers on Wall Street are very well informed.  Perhaps the 99% might consider a more worthy donation to Occupy Wall Street, rather than a donation to your highly uninformed ‘fat cat career politician.’

Speaker of the House, John Boehner was quite correct when he asserted, ‘this is class warfare.’  For all the wrong reasons, John, you are correct.  It is most certainly class warfare.

RANDOM AMUSES

What happens when you put up two evenly matched teams in a contest, two teams that scratch out wins, two teams capable of high run production but, don’t always get it?  You get the Cards & Rangers squared off in a close game number one of the 2011 World Series.

The Cardinals got a pair on the board in the 4th but, Texas answered with their only 2 runs of the game in the 5th, and we had a brand new ball game.  The Cardinals got the deciding run in the 6th.

The final stats for the first meeting of a best of 7 shows the Cardinals with 3 runs. 6 hits. no errors.  Texas came up one short with an almost identical stat of 2-6-0.

Game 2 scheduled in St. Louis, tonight at 805pm – et.

Took in a penny spec-stock, yesterday.  Have made a profit so far.  Most everything on the Bulletin Board is easily  subject to big changes based on sneezes, hiccups, and wind direction.  As I watch the ticker, TBBC is down on the day, so far but, still up from my original buy price.   Please try not to sneeze.:-)

THE CATALYSTS

I work for a living.  It’s barely a living but, it is a living.  I am a necessary catalyst for someone else to make a hefty living, a very good living.

My job performance is pretty good.  My employer wants me to sell, so I sell.  That is the number one reason for my existence on the job.

The structure of large companies allows for me, and others like me to keep selling so, the top person in charge of the company can make a more than comfortable living along with a few other chosen people ready to take the top seat, if necessary.

I am the catalyst that allows them a chair at a desk all day while I do the ‘real’ work.  Their ‘work’ which consists of driving a car without ever gaining a license, is contingent upon my work where no performance is good enough. When it comes to Sr. Management bonus time, they could have gotten more if, only I had done more for increased profits.

I appear daily with a fresh attitude focusing on one sale at a time throughout my day.  Total focus on the customer I am assisting until they are informed, and happy.  It won’t be good enough if, Sr. Management does not receive their bonuses.

Many CEOs are college grads but, many times are merely average CEOs because they don’t know anything about what the catalysts have to do to get where they want them to be.  It requires them to be, their own catalysts at least part time.  Then, and only then can they begin to experience their own businesses.  Then, and only then can they begin taking their public companies from $25/share to over $400/share.

As a CEO, why aren’t you awesome, remarkable, and revered?  Somebody else did it.  Why can’t you?  Why don’t you?

How did Steven Jobs become one of the most revered CEOs  in American history?  How did he bring a company trading at $25/share to over $400/share?  His whole career was as a catalyst. He worked every byte (no, I could not resist the pun) of Apple.  He knew the work, and worked the work.  That’s how he did it.

In knowing what the work was, Jobs rewarded some of his employees knowing his financial future got better because of them.  He learned that much later in his career but, finally came to that realization.  Many company CEOs see it differently.  They see their employees as mere liabilities.

Jobs will continue to be missed as he built a one time only business model etched in history based on his vast imagination, innovation, and his activity as a catalyst.

It is a lesson often missed at the top, and a catalyst for a bonus missed at the top.

NO TARP FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR US

We may be out of money with nobody around to finance our existence until we get back on our feet.

The government’s TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) funds for bailout have all but, been exhausted.  Bush started it, Obama continued the bailouts beginning with Banks, and Corporate America.  It also ended with Banks, Insurers and Corporate America.

You, and I paid taxes so TARP Funds could be given to Corporate America enabling their move forward.  They were strapped.  Corporate America couldn’t pay its’ bills, and got relief from the American tax payer.

TARP money was warmly received, and Corporate America became the catalyst for corporate growth overseas.

We are a generous bunch, aren’t we?

General Motors received the most notoriety as they received their portion of the bailout.  There were several other companies including many financial TARP companies .

TARP money was important to continue business in America out of America.  It was necessary for the status-quo.  The status-quo of the upper echelon of each company receiving funds.  The ability to maintain super salaries accompanied by, like bonuses.

True, President Obama tried to put a cap of 500k per executive but, considering the circumstances…that was still a super salary to many people.  The OBama salary cap didn’t stick.

TARP companies spent their money wisely.  The menu for expenditures included lobbying in Washington, boats, and planes.

Many of these companies didn’t even bother to thank the American Taxpayer.

They did, and you didn’t even know it.  They moved vast employment bases overseas, while the lesser skilled American collects unemployment.    Rest assured, upper management maintains its’ watch right here in the USA with full benefits.

This all happened under the watchful eye of CONgress.  Leave CONgress out of this, they were very busy maintaining status as Democrats & Republicans.  You honestly think they have time for the Country?
