Winter still has some time to manifest itself as it usually does however, so far we’ve had a great Winter. The usual snow has not arrived except in the surrounding mountains. Nice to look at.
Ironically, my wife would tell you a different story as she is a transplant from Maine. Snow is like a nutrient to her. I, on the other hand am a transplant from Southern California, and don’t mind looking at snow……from a distance.
Observing others drive in the snow is okay but, not really my thing in real life. To experience driving in snow, without snow, there are enough amusement parks in Southern California featuring ‘bump cars.’
We have been here for a dozen years, plus! I prefer California only because of the choice to do something….anything! In California, you can awaken to go to the beach, the L.A. Zoo, so the animals have a chance to observe me. Go to a National Park, Griffith Park Observatory, any national or, very local proprietor for food, go to work, stay home, and do nothing. My point is, at least the option is there. Disneyland, surfing; Dozens of different ways to get around to all the conveniences.
World Famous Original Tommy’s Hamburgers, Dodger Baseball. I could go watch the Cubs win, at Dodger Stadium. Yes, I was once a Dodger fan.
I remember Tommy’s with only one location at Beverly & Ramparts as a High School crowd destination. Worth the ride from the home base, San Fernando Valley.
Same time frame as I watched Sandy Koufax pitch for the Dodgers, and the ‘Duke’ was in center.
We moved here because of the lack of pollution contributing to my wife’s asthma but, the clean air is beginning to diminish little by, little with little accompanying reason to remain.
My wife is no longer employed, and while I am fortunate to have a good employer, I could consider retirement at 80 at this pace.
